Welcome to the Muskoka Home Child Care Agency, a home away from home.
The District of Muskoka is licensed by the Ministry of Education to provide home child care programming for children from birth to age 12. Approved home child care providers contract with the Muskoka Home Child Care Agency to provide high quality, affordable and accessible care.
The Agency views children as wondrous, joyful, and inquisitive and we celebrate their uniqueness. The Agency supports families in feeling welcomed, valued, and connected as we create a learning environment that invokes curiosity and engagement while igniting a lifelong love of learning.

Did You Know? New Providers joining the Muskoka Home Child Care Team are eligible to receive up to $6,000 in Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) Start Up Funding! This funding is designed to assist you with the initial costs of being an approved provider and includes items such as obtaining your First Aid and CPR, your Criminal Reference Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, Fire Inspection and so much more! Meet the MHCCA Team
- The Muskoka Home Child Care Agency Team consists of one Manager, two Home Visitors, and a Case Aide.
- Collectively, our current staff team has over 50+ years of experience in the Early Learning and Child Care field. We are a dedicated and passionate team that believes strongly in working together to provide exceptional quality care to children and families of Muskoka.
- We are mentors, and support leaders, who build meaningful relationships with our Providers to enhance their knowledge, skill set, and enthusiasm for working with children. We are committed to supporting each families’ unique journey and feel privileged to be a part of nurturing each child’s future.
Meet the MHCCA Home Child Care Educators!
- Although Port Sydney Daycare joined the Agency in 2017, this Provider has spent many more years in the child care profession refining the concept of child-led learning. She is very intentional in setting up her environment, carefully selecting the right materials for deep play and inquiry.
- Winona Days Daycare began with us in 2021. She is keen to learn and never hesitates to ask a question. Her natural organizational and communication skills flow into a program that is thoughtful and well prepared.
- Flourishing Minds is operated by a calm, friendly and thoughtful RECE who deeply feels that responsive and secure relationships are optimal for children’s growing brains and self-regulation development. She values child-led free play, with the use of loose part materials, process art choices and sensory experiences.
- Megan’s Child Care is located in one of our rural communities and has a caregiver who has many years of experience in a home child care setting. The children will feel like this program is a home away from home as they are encouraged to participate in helping cultivate the beautiful gardens and become best buds, with the fun-loving family dog.
- With an adorable name like this, Kiwi Kids Daycare, you know you’re stepping into a program full of fun and joy. This provider was operating privately and decided to join our team so families could have affordable child care through CWELCC and to ensure that she was meeting all the necessary health and safety requirements and early childhood best practices. She values being on a team and helping her community.
- Rainbow Rascals educator is a loving mom of two. Her program values the exploration of arts and crafts materials and sensory experiences. The indoor environment is set up to invite children to explore and engage in rich materials and with a huge outdoor space, there is much to discover and enjoy.
- The educator of Muskoka Tiny Treasures brings her experience as a former home child care provider to the team. With her warm smile, soft tone and friendly, caring nature, it’s no wonder that children adore her and the wonderful art projects they engage in.
- Dragon Fly Acres is as lovely as it sounds. The educator is a loving parent and teacher. She loves to learn and grow with her passion for children’s wellbeing and actively participates in all learning opportunities. She is organized, patient, kind and encouraging, using best practices for children’s best start in life. You will feel the same way, we are sure!
- Cara’s Child Care is operated to by an experienced teacher and mother who has dedicated her life to the education of young minds. Through circles, sensory experiences with natural materials and close connections to the outdoors, the children have a rich learning environment where opportunities for reading and printing skill development abound no matter what the child’s age or stage of growth. The educator is a strong communicator and very active in the community where she invests her time and energy as well.
- Joyful Journeys is a dedicated child care program to the betterment of all children in care. The educator is a considerate and caring mom that has built a special space for childcare in her home. She has dedicated her time and energy to creating a program where children can explore and take opportunities to extend their learning. She has a background in working with persons of special needs, therefore, her commitment to providing the best care she can is deeply meaningful to her. The children will be in excellent care!
- Between the Pines Daycare is a wonderful experience for children in care. There are some sweet pets that help build empathy and kindness in children, and there is warm encouragement to explore and enjoy the world around them. Laughter and fun along with strong bond building opportunities can always be found as that is where the joy of learning and growing start for our little ones. The educator actively models and creates an atmosphere of kindness and love with her soft words and smile.
- Katrina’s Kiddos has that home away from home feeling where your child will become a part of the family. The educator is actively learning about the latest and greatest in child development and embracing new ideas and concepts to support children’s positive learning outcomes. She makes every effort to get out into the community and the children love the library visits that they make just about every week. We are impressed by her dedication to the children and the joy she takes in having them in her program.
- Muskoka Minis is where we find a loving grandmother and a joyful heart. She gives the children the best care possible by following best practices and policies of the Muskoka Home Child Care Agency. This educator is dedicated to her family and the children in her program are a part of that experience. She welcomes them in and creates a warm and stimulating environment where children can be themselves. She has worked very hard to create a space that all families will feel their child will be in a home away from home.
